Guten Tag, Wien!

After two long days of flying (Denver to Detroit, Detroit to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Vienna - yeah, we got a good deal on business class airfare), we're here!

Admittedly we had a little too much fun at the craft beer bar in Detroit - lord I love good Michigan beers - and it colored the rest of the flights...we're just not as resilient as we used to be.  But all in all the seats were comfortable, the food decent, and the service good.

Entering (and traveling within) the EU is soooo easy!  We went through passport control in Amsterdam - quick and efficient.  I was particularly impressed that the passport agents were calling out departure times and letting people who were standing in line, but getting close to their departure time, cut into a shorter line so they'd make their flights. "12:15 or earlier - show me your boarding pass; 12:15 or earlier."  It was like a weird BINGO game.  And since the flight to Vienna was a domestic flight, when we arrived, we simply got our bags and waltzed out of the terminal.

So here we are in Vienna!  After a religious-experience hot shower and an extended session with my Quip travel toothbrush (you gotta get one of these), we went in search of a brau haus.  Found one about a four-minute walk from our hotel.  Zum Bettelstudent fit the bill perfectly.

Veal Wiener Schnitzel, potato salad and a helles beer.  Prost!

But now it's time to relax and get a good night's sleep so we can explore tomorrow.  Gute Nacht.
